The school, mindful of its mission to be a witness to the love of Christ for all, admits students regardless of race, color, or national and/or ethnic origin to all rights privileges, programs and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school.

The school does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, disability, medical condition, sex or national and/or ethnic origin in the administration of educational policies, admissions policies, SCHOLARSHIP , and loan programs, and athletic and other school-administered programs. Although certain athletic leagues and other programs may limit participation and some archdiocesan schools operate as single sex schools.

While the school does not discriminate against students with special needs, a full range of services may not always be available to them. Decisions concerning the admission and continued enrollment of a student in the school are based upon the student’s emotional academic and physical abilities and the resources available to the school in meeting the student’s needs.

athletic, and other school administered programs.

As Roman Catholics dedicated to the God-given dignity of every human being, we state clearly that there are no discrimination practices in our enrollment policy due to race ethnic background, social or economic status in any decision-making. Since we are a Catholic religious-oriented school founded for the St. Joseph Catholic Church Parish, we give preference to members of the St. Joseph Parish and to members of the Roman Catholic Church, but we welcome members of other creeds once our Catholic applicants have been served.

While St. Joseph Elementary School does not offer a special needs program, it will make reasonable accommodations for otherwise qualified applicants. St. Joseph Elementary School cannot accept students with severe ACADEMIC or behavioral problems.

To insure proper grade placement, new students entering Grade 2-8 take a religion, math, and reading test based on the St. Joseph Elementary Catholic School curriculum. Prior to entrance to first grade, new students are administered a Readiness Test and Maturity Screening Test. All Kindergarten applicants are administered a Maturity Screening Test.

The school administration reserves the right to refuse acceptance of students whose test scores show a lack of basic skills or maturity required for a particular grade.

No student is admitted to St. Joseph Elementary School without:

  1. Proof of proper immunization, as required by state law
  2. Valid birth certificate
  3. Baptismal certificate
  4. The most recent report card from previous school (Grades 1-8)
  5. A letter of recommendation from previous principal or teacher

Parents of new and current students must attend the Principal/Parent Obligatory meeting prior to final registration of the new school year. The children of parents, who have not completed financial obligations at St. Joseph Elementary School or any other Catholic school from the previous year, will not be accepted to St. Joseph Elementary Catholic School.

St. Joseph Elementary Catholic School administration considers students for acceptance based on the following priorities:

  1. Students who were enrolled during the immediate previous school year in Gr. K-7
  2. Students whose siblings were enrolled during the immediate previous year.
  3. Students whose parents are registered at St. Joseph Parish
  4. Catholic students transferring from another Catholic School.
